Jack Linshi

Jack Linshi is a junior majoring in Applied Mathematics with a concentration in economics. At Yale, Jack is on the Yale Daily News board as a WEEKEND (Arts & Living) Editor, is involved in YIRA and produces independent art work. Jack is considering either a highly quantitative or creative career, and is interested in print and multimedia journalism, Asia, policy and creative projects. Jack’s interests in the one-child policy come from being the second child in a Chinese-American family, as well as his interests in demography, statistics and investigative journalism.
Li Boynton

Li Boynton is a junior double majoring in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology and East Asian Studies. Her main career interests lie in health care, particularly in an international context. She participates in research at the Gonzalez Lab studying the causal links between various inflammation-related diseases due to neutrophil transmigration. When not at work studying or doing research, Li can be found painting in the studio or doing graphic design. Li’s interests in the one-child policy come from her research in public health as well as her passion for women’s and reproductive rights.
Cynthia Hua

Cynthia Hua is a double major in Film Studies and Economics. She is a staff writer for the Yale Daily News and a board member of Bulldog Productions, where she is currently producing the show “Decent Enough.” Her interests include photojournalism, international politics and media.
Meghan Uno

Meghan Uno is a senior majoring in Art with concentrations in Photography and Graphic Design. A former Light Fellow, Meghan has had extensive experience studying Asian culture, focusing on documenting Japanese festivals and child development. Meghan also specializes in editorial and fashion work as YCouture’s former president and Vita Bella! Magazine’s former art director. Now, Meghan is focusing on her senior thesis, which explores issues of aesthetic and cultural identity through pattern and form. She hopes to pursue a career in travel and art photography, dedicated to educating the Western world about contemporary Japanese society.
Haley Adams
Timothy Dwight College, 2016
Haley Adams is a freshman originally from El Dorado Hills, California. She has not yet declared a major, but is considering studying Global Affairs and Women’s and Gender Studies. As part of the Yale International Relations Association, she is the Assistant Secretary General of Services for the Yale Model United Nations Conference and is on the Yale Model United Nations Team. She is very excited about exploring the one-child policy in Beijing this winter, particularly its impact on women’s reproductive rights in China.
Jessica Leao

Jessica Leao is a freshman and a prospective Global Affairs and Economics double major. She intends to go to law school after Yale, and wants to specialize in international law and work with international agencies, companies and organizations to ensure global development. She is involved in YIRA as a member of Yale’s competitive Model United Nations team, as an Assistant Secretary General for the Yale Model United Nations Conference (YMUN), and as a Committee Director for YMUN-Korea. During her free time, Jessica enjoys reading poetry and writing creative pieces for her personal blog.
Harry Larson

Harry Larson is a junior Economics and Mathematics major. He is interested in theoretical and applied economics and hopes to pursue further study and research in economics in a post-graduate context. He ultimately plans to pursue a career in economic policy-making, whether on the domestic or international stage. In college, Harry is an active YIRA member and the current Director General for YMUN, YIRA’s high school Model UN conference that brings over 1,300 high school students to Yale’s campus to debate current issues of international import. He also writes a regular opinion column for the Yale Daily News. In his free time, Harry enjoys Ethiopian food, English poetry, and episodes of Gossip Girl (he re-watches each one frequently).
Aaron Berman

Aaron Berman is a freshman who hails from Rockville, Maryland. Though currently undecided on a major, his academic interests include Global Affairs, Global Health, Physics and Linguistics. He is currently studying Mandarin Chinese at Yale, and he hopes to take advantage of the extensive opportunities Yale offers students to study abroad in China. Outside the classroom, Aaron is an editor for the Yale Review of International Studies and also writes for Yale’s humor magazine, Rumpus.
Ulysses “Ace” Isidro

Ace Isidro is a sophomore from Houston, Texas. He is majoring in either Economics or Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and is interested in the connection between business and medicine. He plays violin for the Davenport Pops Orchestra and is involved in KASAMA: The Filipino Club at Yale, Yale Global Medical Brigades, Ventures in Science, and AIESEC. In his free time, he enjoys listening to music, traveling, dancing, working out, and playing basketball and ping pong.
Rishabh Bhandari

Rishabh Bhandari is a freshman from Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Although he’s not quite sure what he’ll study, at the moment he’s leaning towards History. He wishes to work in American politics in some capacity, ideally with an emphasis on foreign policy. At Yale, he is also involved with YIRA as the International Relations Director for the Board of Strategic Operations and as an Assistant Secretary General for the Yale Model United Nations Conference. He also writes for the Yale Daily News and blogs for the Yale Politic. In his free time, Rishabh is an avid fan of the New York Knicks or Mets and watching The West Wing.
